Born and raised in North London, Hohnen Ford grew up immersed in London’s vibrant Jazz scene, becoming fixated on instrumental jazz music of the 20th Century and later studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music.
Whilst at the Royal Academy, Hohnen Ford wrote and performed extensively in various ensembles around the UK, whilst privately developing her own sound, inspired by the songwriting of Joni Mitchell, Bjork, David Longstreth, Stevie Wonder, Big Thief, Gillian Welch, and the composers of the Great American Songbook.
Whilst writing and recording her debut release, Hohnen Ford has cultivated a devoted online audience through performances at her piano, live-streamed from her home to millions each week.
Taking confidence from these performances she set about creating her first EP, ‘Infinity’, selling out on her first solo headline shows, and joining friends Matt Maltese and Etta Marcus on their EU and UK tours.
