Devon Open Studios is the annual flagship event of Devon Artist Network. For two weeks in September, members of the network – potters, artists, jewellery makers, wood workers, needle workers and creatives of every kind – open their doors and invite people in to discover their work and to chat to the artists themselves about their processes and inspiration. Work will also be on sale and it can be a perfect opportunity to purchase unique artwork direct from the maker.

The unique Chagford Film Festival continues to go from strength to strength. They have an amazing line-up of eclectic films, special guests (including Oscar winners!), quirky events and hands-on workshops to suit all ages and tastes. The festival kicks off with an opening night gala on the Monday and finishes with a spectacular street event on the Saturday.

Since 2001, the Two Moors Festival has welcomed outstanding international artists and the rising stars of the next generation to perform for large and enthusiastic audiences in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt corners of the UK. Performances are given in beautiful and historic venues, including country houses, village halls, rural arts centres, museums, churches, cathedrals, pannier markets and even Nissen huts and railway stations across Devon and West Somerset.

Every summer Budleigh Music Festival stages more than a week of concerts and events, not only featuring world-class performers but also providing a valuable platform for local young musicians. Founded in 2005 by Roger and Brenda Bowen as a festival of multiple art forms, the Budleigh Music Festival has grown to focus on high-quality classical music, with the occasional twist of something less conventional.

Based in the seaside village of Shaldon on Devon’s south coast, Shaldon Festival welcomes world-class musicians and rising stars of the future at their annual festival in the summer, and reaches out to the younger generation by organising workshops for local school pupils. The Festival was founded in 1990 by Eileen Croxford Parkhouse in memory of her husband David Parkhouse, both of whom were founding members of the Music Group of London in 1966.

The Topsham Music Festival was founded in 2023 by pianist Nina Savicevic. The aim is to benefit talented young musicians and the community, by providing performance opportunities as well as bringing people together from the local community and beyond. The festival focuses on engaging talented young musicians who are dedicated to developing their musical careers, aiming to pay musicians fairly and create a welcoming environment.
